Peugeot 4007 – 7 Seater 4×4 (4WD)
The Peugeot 4007 is a unique collaboration between Peugeot, their sister company Citreon and Japanese manufacturer Mitsubishi to create a 4×4 7 seater car. The 4007 is built by Mitsubishi and based on their hugely popular Outlander 4×4 model, with Peugeot providing the engine and styling. The Citreon C-Crosser is also very similar. Although this amalgamation of designs does produce a very high quality car, the slightly strange front end of the Peugeot 4007 may put off some buyers.
Peugeot 4007 – Cost
A brand new Peugeot 4007 MPV will cost between £24,045 and £27,720, however high quality second hand options can be bought for between £13,000 and £22,000.
Peugeot 4007 – Servicing and MOT
Servicing a 4007needs to be undertaken either every 2 years or 12,000 miles, with a service from Peugeot costing upwards of £90. Prices do vary nationally, though, so check with local garages. MOTs can be carried out by any local garage for around £50.
Peugeot 4007 – Emissions (Co2)
The emissions of the Peugeot 4007 are dictated by the transmission in the car. All 7 seater models use a highly efficient 2.2 HDi engine, however models with an automatic transmission churn out around 192g/km of CO2 while those with a manual transmission only emit 185g/km.
Peugeot 4007 – Car Tax (VED)
The lower emission manual transmission Peugeot 4007 7 seater cars are placed into Band I, leaving them liable to a very reasonable £300 showroom fee and £200 road tax. The automatic transmission models are placed in the next band up, Band J, and are subject to a pricier £425 showroom fee and £235 annual road tax for 2010\2011.
Peugeot 4007 – Miles Per Gallon (MPG)
Along with having lower emissions, the manual transmission versions of the Peugeot 4007 are also more economical than their automatic counterparts. The manual Peugeot 4007’s will offer a highly efficient 40mpg combined, while the automatic models lag slightly behind by only offering 38mpg combined.
Peugeot 4007 – Additional Features
The Peugeot 4007 comes with a generous standard trim which includes safety features such as ABS, driver’s, passenger’s and side air bags, Isofix points, power assisted steering and cruise control. Manual transmission models will reach 60mph in between 9.6s and 10.6s depending on the exact specification, while automatic versions are not that far behind by reaching 60mph in 12.1s. The top speed across the range is around 124mph.
